Let’s talk for a moment about something I learned the other night about taking snapshots and avoiding the fish-eye effect. Strawberry Singh was broadcasting a live stream about taking photos in SL and one of the things she talked about was the fish-eye that happens when you zoom in on your avatar to take a snapshot.
On the image above you can see the difference. The image on the left is from me zooming in on my avatar using the scroll wheel on my mouse. As you can see it distorts it a bit. My head is stretched funny, my avatar is leaning back much more as well. What I learned from Strawberry’s live stream is to use Ctrl+0 to zoom in instead of the mouse scroll wheel. LOOK at how different the result is!
I see SO many blog posts and images where people’s avatars are all stretched out so badly. As a little side note, once you use Ctrl+0 you will notice your SL world looks way different now when you look around. So to get back out of that view, just click Ctrl+9 to get back to normal.
